hmm, and I just noticed, I cannot find Weiss in A-Gaming line-up anymore and he wasn't at ASUS Cup either. Unless he played with another nickname, of course.

Once again, my slow response:

It's nice to hear how you're doing. You seem to be doing well for yourself. As I see it, you're a resourceful guy, so I'm sure you will be able to move even more in the direction which you desire, which seems closely tied in with the gaming scene (or party scene? ;)), from what I can hear.

So, how much do you follow the Counter-Strike scene today, being busy with your carreer and all? Personally, I've started following it a bit more the last months after some years of hardly paying attention. As always, it's frustrating that my favourite Russians and Germans aren't doing as well as I like, but I can deal with it and still enjoy some demos. I just watched A-Gaming in the WCG final as well, and they seem pretty good, all the players fitting well in their respective roles for the team. It's hard to give detailed judgement, since my experience watching was limited due to the laggy HLTV demos. A-Gaming don't seem as solid as the top5 European teams, and they didn't do too well at SEC either, to judge from the results. I think it's good that there's something to work on, though. Weiss is still doing well, and I expected him to be the star of the team, but they seem quite evenly matched. I also couldn't help but watch every demo of KALbI4 from ASUS Cup and ASUS Cup Spb. qualifier. It seems that he's getting into gear, although he was a bit weak in many of the matches (he has a weakness of being cause when the opponent makes a move instead of him, and he got caught several times because of that). Once he got to use AWP as terrorist against Virtus.Pro on train, he really showed his qualities, though, with clever positioning and remarkable precision. So, as always, I start getting nostalgic flashbacks ;)

... Which brings me to my next topic. You say there was a tournament with 10.000$, which is a good deal of money. I should have heard of it, but I don't remember any recent events in Ukraine ... maybe if you provide a link, I'd recognize it. But when you wrote me a year ago, you said there was going to be a huge tournament with 80.000$ prizemoney. That never happened? It sounded really good, especially because you said M19 was going to face off against GSC, with the best line-ups of the two teams historically. Also because I love it when there are tournaments where eastern teams can participate and at the same time a lot of Western European teams will are attracted. That gives those eastern teams a rare chance to show their skill and beat the western ones badly. I'm often a bit mad at the ignorance that the general community has shown about the skill of teams from countries that never had much chance to prove themselves internationally.

And about my job; no, I really like it. I just don't like spending an entire weekend stressed doing impossible, frustrating IT-assignments. However, that has only happened once where it was that bad so far. And we just a new deal for our home duty, which means that we will be paid according to the amount of work that we have to do, on average a 20-30% raise. Not that the money really matter, but it might help to justify when you make an extraordinary effort. Also, we had fought a lot for the raise because we didn't feel our work on home duty was being appreaciated with the old wage. My work environment is great and I like the people there, so I couldn't ask for much more from a job like this. It's almost hard to contemplate stopping if I am to move on because I'm already a bit attached. I also have constant challenges, and I'm soon going to Norway for a few days to set up some procedures for dealing with a new customer for our company.

I'm not sure what to say about your car. Cars don't really mean a lot to me. You car looks fine (even though the shape perhaps is not of my preference) and I watched the video. I just hope you're careful, though :)

About the website: as far as I recall, when you made your comment, the site design had just changed momentarily, and is now changed back. So, I'm not sure if you were referring to the temporary design change (which was terrible) or the form of the website now. The website as it is now is quite good, I think. It's definitely not as classy as the old design, but I think it's easy to find everything and I find myself looking at the latest results constantly. Also, the site is now very much a "chat centre" with an extreme focus on chatting and the people visiting the site. However, despite the constant friend requests from people I don't know, I've actually enjoyed it, since I've been able to get in contact with a person that was interesting to talk with. It's much easier to see things about persons on the site and follow that part of the onging development; something apart from just the news and results.

I'm doing great. I have to admit that I haven't done any writing yet. First, I didn't have any time, and these days I'm too restless to get to it.

I still live with my parents, and recently I decided that I wanted to move out. The thought was that I had always been inspired when I experienced a change of scenery and stepped outside my usual everyday life. Also, I would have more space for my own doings and thoughts when not having my mother and little brother around. However, the two following things have stopped me so far:

1. Practical issues. Like, I need to set up internet, have space for a computer and television and also find space for all my stuff that I don't have the heart to throw out (my mother won't keep it once I move out). I feel there are quite a few things that would be impractical and that I would miss in everyday life.

2. Money. Well, as I hardly spend any money, I would surely have enough to move out. I actually pay more to stay at home than the normal rent is for an apartment. However, it would feel like a waste to pay a big deposit if I move to another city to study soon. They often take a lot of the deposit and use it to repaint the apartment and stuff like that, so you don't get much of it back.

Of course, the above two reasons aren't really of any significant importance, so I'm still heavily considering moving out. It means a lot to get on with my life and get to do some writing and perhaps see more people.

So, that's really my only thoughts of the future at the moment. I'm still at the same job, doing really well, and pretty much every one of my colleagues come to me for help, and doing a lot of helping, be it for customers or colleagues, is keeping me satisfied.

This weekend I had a horrible weekend on the job, though. Our working hours are 8-16 and afterwards someone has to take a shift to cover until the next morning. For weekend, you have to sit at home with a phone, being available all day. One of my colleagues asked me to take his weekend shift, so I did. I also had my best friend over for the weekend. Seeing that he and I just pretty much sit and talk and browse on our computers when we don't play some game miltiplayer, it's not any problem if I'm a bit occupied some of the time. So, friday, 16:00, half an hour after my shift starts, the phones start calling. I don't mind having a lot to do, but the worst part is when you get some cases that are impossible to relate to and where you really have to clue about the situation and no way to find out. Then it's really hard to help the users. All the time, I was doing about three cases simultaneously, non-stop, until around 20:00. There, I would almost about to faint as I lacked sleep and had almost eaten nothing for 24 hours (I normally don't have time for breakfast, don't get much to eat and work and I had eaten a very light dinner last night). Luckily, things quieted and I got to play some computer games with my friend. We went down in the cellar to sleep at 23, watching a movies until about 1 o-clock that night. Between 23 that night and 11 when I got up next morning, I was interrupted 11 times, sometimes by some horrible and confusing cases. It was spread hour, so I pretty much got a call every hour and had to grab the phone and run all the way upstair to my room where my laptop was every time someone called. Nexy day, saturday, was more quiet. About ten calls during the day, around average, and I was only waken two times during the night. Sunday was even better and I got to recover a bit and my friend went home that evening. However, that night there was a big breakdown and I got a lot of calls, so once again I was shook into full consciousness and out of my relaxed sleep, having to get an overview of the problems that some companies faces. It wasn't nearly as hard as friday, but was pretty much the icing on the cake of that weekend. Still, it's already forgotten, and now normal work seems a bit easier ;)

I don't reckon the above story will be so interesting for someone who doesn't know the job, but I decided to get it off my chest anyway. If you are bored, at least it will keep you occupied ;)

Anyway, during the Christmas break I went to Copenhagen to see my friend as I always do. Normally I stay one week and leave after new years eve, but this time I stayed around two weeks. We had a good time, despite having gotten into a bad habbit of mainly watching films when I visit, but the most important thing was getting into our usual rhythm of conversation and bringing back old times (I pretty much only see him once a year).

Afterwards, the day I was leaving Copenhagen for my city, I went to see an old teacher of mine, who I have been keeping contact with. She was very young when she was a teacher, and was only my teacher for 1-2 years before she moved onto something else (and moved to Copenhagen), but she left an impression. I had to chance to meet up with her when I was in Copenhagen visiting my friend, and since she also liked my parents she met with them as well. As she moved further away from Copenhagen, though, it was hard to me to contemplate seeing her, having to come visit her in a remote town. We had been keeping a bit of contact through mail, but until recently hadn't spoken a word in three years. I wrote her a humongous mail, for which she was overjoyed, and she told me that I should just come visit, even though I had explained my doubts in my mail. So, I did, and it was truly great to catch up and get to meet her family. She is home with two kids now, the first-born actually named after me :P ... I had a great time, and feel refreshed from the experience, wishing for more times like that. I also saw the guys from my education at an annual party. A shame a fell asleep early - I was trying to hit the kind of drunkeness where you are cozily drunk, a bit lightheaded and your inhibitions are gone. I feel that helps me connect to people a bit better at parties. It seems that you can only get drunk like that from beer, though, and since I always drink sweet champagne wines and liquor, I always seem to skip that face and go right to losing my ability to think and then just getting very tired and disconnecting.

And how are you doing? It's nice to see a Ukrainian team blossom like A-Gaming - I suppose you're behind that, traning them all in secret ;)

And no drugs, I suppose? :P
