The Polish website eSpmania reported that the show match did not take place. The Finnish team canceled its participation ten hours before the IFNG was scheduled to start, in spite of the ESL having purchased plane tickets and booked hotels (most likely around €1,600).
The reason for the absence of the Finns was SPIKEONE missing his train to the airport. The team attempted to get Finnair to change the name on SPIKEONE's ticket but the request was refused. ESL Poland offered that the former Team Pentagram player, Zbigniew "zibi" Rudnicki, should play as a stand in, but the Finns decided to cancel the trip.
Lurppis, who was the IFNG stand in with SPIKEONE for Max Oskari 'ruuit' Aspe and Juuso 'contE' Sajakoski, was surprised to find that his team mates did not want to go.
"People started saying 'Maybe we shouldn't go and what's the point of a show match with a Polish guy playing with us and blablabla,'" he said. "I thought they were just joking cause it was obvious we had to go. The talking went on for a long time. Then it was time for us to pack up and leave for the airport and they said like 'What's the point let's just stay home.'"
This put ESL Poland in an awkward situation with several hours to get a worthy replacement for the Finns and an explanation to the fans that expected something else. The Polish team UCP stepped in and "saved the day," losing to Fx after a one-sided match.
We have contacted tihOp, the player that worked with ESL Poland with regard to organising the trip, for a comment:
"Well I guess a explanation would be [the] least what we can give. And we need to [stress] the fact that we are not happy with what happened either. We spent our own money also on this one, but it's just too bad that SPIKEONE didn't make it to his train. We are really ashamed and sorry what happened - each one of us has packed our things and were getting ready to leave for airport until we got a call from SPIKEONE and he said he couldn't make it to the plane. And once again. Tell them that we are So Freaking Sorry of it - Shit happens (((."

And I don't think that they would have wasted €1,600 for nothing. I think that they had a real problem with this.
But i understand that the players didnt feel like going cos one of their players didnt go. Maybe a bit stupid cos it was supposed to be a showmatch anyways, not a serious one.
No one can be blamed really, but too bad for iFGN Poland :\
besides, I wouldn't go either, if one of my teammates was hit by Satiinis fist of absence .. even if it is a showmatch, how can you put up a show if you are one man less .. that wouldn't feel right.
the reason why the train or whatever was late was the snowstorm that hit us here ..
It was showmatch and they just didn't want to go, thats obvious for me:)
but it doesn't matter now:)
If someone else took the time and effort to arrange the trip for you AND paid 1600 to get you at the event and all YOU have to do is get up on time and be at the station on time then... YES you are an absolute moron if you miss the train.
be idiot sry, didn't find another word..
A: There was MAJOR traffic problems or his car broke down or something.
B: He was slacking getting ready and it's his fault he missed the train.
Along with this, even if you're one player short, if the trip has been paid for by someone else, you go regardless, especially as it was only a show match.
I feel sorry for the opponent, organization, fans and finns though...
i also don't understand y they canceled the showmatch in fact that they would have got zibi as stand in ... =_=
Idiots.
