After finishing the first three-way tie-breaker with Weiliang “Fly100%” Lu and Xiaofeng “Sky” Li in Group A in Beijing Tour of China E-sports Games(CEG) 2008 Series, Zhuo “TED” Zeng was abruptly eliminated from the competition by a draw instead of playing another tie-breaker.

The incident took place when the Undead player tied with Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu and Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li with 3 wins and 1 loss by the end of group stage with all of them defeating each other once. As usual, a following tie-breaker among them was set up to decide which two of them would proceed to the playoffs.

None of them was able to claim two defeats of their counterparts in the tie-breakers and it seemed another tie-breaker was inevitable. But the organizing body of CEG opted to demand the players draw the winners instead.

"The decision led to a rather erratic outcome and based nothing but on pure luck and I would rather fight for a qualification on his own hands", says TED in his latest blog and it was echoed by both Fly100% and Sky. Though all of them opposed to this decision, resistant CEG didn’t seem to waver. Fly100% and Sky picked first and received first place and second place in their group respectively and TED was consequently eliminated without even taking part in the draw.

"The schedule is too tight so there is simply not enough time for another tie-breaker in their theory. Though previous CEG tours usually last three days, there were 3 or 4 tie-breakers in a row a couple of times before," Continues TED, "Now that they decide to draw the winners after just one tie-breaker and this is the first time I've ever heard someone advance from group stage because of draw."
