The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), hoping to jump on the back of the world’s most successful MMO, have announced plans to release their own online game.
World of Peacecraft, pencilled for a December release on PC, takes players back to 17th Century England and asks them to preach (not fight) against “the evils of war and unjust rule.”
From there the game will take players to 19th Century America to take part in women’s suffrage, the underground railway. Eventually, wannabe-Quakers make it to the modern day and will join the fight for civil rights, against the death penalty and against the war on terror.

UPDATE - Rik Riel, the author behind the Click Heard Round the World blog and a producer for Linden Labs' Second Life confirmed to The Escapist that the blog entry and quoted press release were fabrications written to test how people would react to the news.
Riel has a history of these hoaxes usually based around virtual worlds, having admitted that posts about 3-D Shakespearean MMOs and ICANN (the internet organization in charge of maintaining website domain names) would be moving its resources into a virtual world were faked.
