The two finalists had almost two completely different approach to the overall final, yet nothing but outstanding.
Fly100% seemed to have improved his skill in Orc vs. NE match-up by great margin as he blew away the Korean NE pair Sung Sik 'ReMinD' Kim and Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang with 3-0 and 3-1 win respectively.
Grubby, in the meantime, established his mirror skill in the single elimination playoffs as he took Du Seop 'WhO' Chang by storm with a 3-1 win and later on pulled off a magnificent comeback against June 'Lyn' Park in the semi-finals.
The final was pointing to a Fly100%’s show when the Chinese player was leading 1-0 in the best of five match and clearly outperformed his Dutch opponent in his base as he merely lost 3 units during that fight while Grubby had only two heroes and a spirit walker left.
But Fly100% did not capitalise on this advantage and attack Grubby’s base. He instead used his Blade Master scouting Grubby’s possible expansion while keeping the rest of his army chilling out in his base. This left Grubby plenty of time closing the food gap between the two and Grubby displayed fine control of his Zeppelin later on when the two met again in his base and successfully equalised the score after killing Fly100%’s whole army.
The Meet Your Maker’s talismanic player went on winning the third game and turned it 2-1 in favour of him and was only one game away from his first major international title in 2008, but Fly100% managed to disappoint him with two straight wins in the end.
The Mousesports player utilised his Shadow Hunter when he came out and killed a bunch of Grubby’s units with hex in the remaining games which proved too critical to make up for Grubby. He could just see his former hard-core fans surpass him and secured another champion of NiceGameTV tournament after the previous NiceGameTV All-Star tournament.
Grubby expressed his disappointment to Fnatic.com after the final.
''I felt the finals was winnable, I made some mistakes, so did he, but mine were more numerous. I will be eating myself up about it for a while I guess, cuz I'm really disappointed. I tried my best, lost, it sucks."
