There's a new product on the simracing market: iRacing. Our award winning driver took a first ride. Some say his snore sounds like a 5.7 liter V8 big block. Husky’s first impression…

So there it is, finally: iRacing. No it is not another apple manufactured mainstream product, being sold over and over again with the same technique in different colored cases. Not yet.
According to it’s trailer, it offers:

- a new way to train
- a different way to compete
- the best way… to win

Well, lets see. Husky gave it a shot as soon as he received the invitation for downloading –and before that: payment. The only way to get it is via credit card. As Husky doesn’t have one so far – and why would he need that unless he wants to keep buying game content over and over again. Cause that is the iRacing philosophy. Buy a basic content consisting of a few cars an tracks and keep paying every month , as we know it from World of Warcraft. Every new content you want, you have to buy. At least you don’t rent the car and have give it back without any damage. And that would indeed be quite hard.

Ok. Logged in and – what the f*** - Husky is now known as Sandra, cause that is the owner of the credit card he used. You are not able to change name. You will stay a girl until the end of your days – on a racetrack. How much worse can it be? I mean, you can set the fastest laptimes, win every tournament around, you will still be asked: have you ever parked your car backwards?
That guy drove a freaking 500 horse power BMW M6!

Making the best out of the funny situation, husky discovered his female attitudes, being able to seduce every guy in the chat. Soon he focused again. What Is the new way to train? How different than racing against each other can a Race be? How good can it be to win?

To make it short: That is nothing but promotion. Training does not work different than in other racing simulations, racing against each other still is as thrilling as in known games, still internet-delay can wreck a race. And the feeling of winning still is: gorgeous – or, is it?

No. The harder a challenge is, the more you fight to keep the car on track, the more you feel the car as if it would be real, the better it feels to cross the chequered flag first. And that is what iRacing does, that is what simracing is all about: as close to reality as possible (at the moment). It's just a matter of time until leagues develop and prize money is given to the best of the best. We are waiting patiently …
